Two months suspended prison sentence and a 30,000 euros fine, according to

L'Equipe,

 the former Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Michel Bastos, as part of the sale of his former villa in Ecully to suspected drug traffickers.

He was the subject of an appearance on prior admission of guilt (CRPC) before a magistrate of the Lyon public prosecutor's office.

Indicted for "tax fraud" and "laundering tax fraud" in December 2019, the Brazilian finally accepted the

deal

 proposed by a magistrate of the Public Prosecutor's Office.

His agent, Emmanuel de Kerchove, also prosecuted, meanwhile received a two-month suspended sentence and a fine of 5,000 euros.

Bastos is accused of having sold off his villa - estimated at the time at 900,000 euros - at the price of 420,000 euros, to which were added bribes in the amount of 160,000 euros, given in cash to his agent by the one of the three suspects.

The sum was then deposited by Emmanuel de Kerchove in a bank account in Switzerland belonging to Michel Bastos.

For their part, the suspected traffickers were arrested by the police in 2018 in possession of 36 kg of cocaine.
