  • The coach of Olympique de Marseille announced that he had presented his surprise resignation to his management on Tuesday morning.

  • The incidents that occurred on Saturday at the Commanderie do not seem to be the trigger for this decision, but rather the arrival of Ntcham, a recruitment for which he had said no.

  • The situation is explosive at the Olympique de Marseille between this resignation and the incidents of the Commanderie on Saturday.

Another thunderclap at the Olympique de Marseille.

In a press conference before the match against Lens, Wednesday at 9 p.m., André Villas Boas, the coach of Olympique de Marseille announced that he had presented his resignation to his management.

A new earthquake within OM.

"I submitted my resignation to the management, I do not agree with the sports policy of the club," he explained.

It is the transfer of Ntcham, formalized late Monday evening, which triggered this reaction, when he learned of this signature in the press.

“The transfer window ended with the arrival of a new player.

It is a decision which was not taken by me, I have nothing to do.

I learned about it from the press when I woke up.

He is precisely a player for whom I said no.

My professionalism is called into question, ”he said.

Nothing to do with the incidents on Saturday

The atmosphere was calm this Tuesday morning at the Commanderie, and all the journalists present were thinking of a lull after the incidents that occurred this weekend.

AVB was also questioned on this subject at the start of the press conference.

“It was a shocking moment.

Fortunately we are lucky that there were no serious injuries, it was very hard to live.

I had the impression that players could be attacked so I went out to calm the incidents, ”he said.

But the question on the transfer window has ignited the powder.

André Villas Boas also assured that this resignation had nothing to do with these incidents, that he did not want “money from OM”.

If he still does not have answers from the management, who "asked for time", he explained to be focused on the match of Lens.

It's hard to believe as the climate is explosive around Olympique de Marseille.
