His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, has ordered an award of 24 million 392,473 dirhams to those with sporting accomplishments in 2019, which will benefit 680 athletes from 29 federations, and they are distributed to athletes, without holding the annual celebration, according to the procedures The precautionary measure adopted, in the interest of the safety and health of everyone.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, appreciated the generosity of His Highness the President of the State, which is renewed every year for those with sporting achievements, under the generous patronage and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, And that it «is a date to honor everyone who raised his country's flag in international forums, and a proof of the state’s appreciation of innovators in the sports field, and an embodiment of the wise leadership’s directives to invest in the nation’s people and empower them in all fields.
His Highness said: “Emirates sport has achieved many achievements during the last stage, and it is currently standing on the threshold of a new phase that requires the concerted efforts of all cadres working in the sports sector, whether they are players, coaches, referees or administrators, to enhance the gains, and search for the number one. And the first place in the aspects of professional management, making heroes, and investing in talent and new generations, with programs accredited according to the highest international standards, in an effort to ascend the podiums at all occasions.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises and Chairman of the Public Authority for Sports, emphasized that the honor reflects the keenness and interest of the wise leadership in sports and athletes, indicating that it is a great incentive for athletes, in order to continue the achievements and represent the state in the best way.
He said: “We extend our thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his follow-up to sports in general, and his keenness to distribute the donation annually to those with accomplishments, and we stress that it is an annual opportunity for athletes to renew the covenant and loyalty to the wise leadership, and to strive to consolidate the position of the state.
