Newcastle clinch a historic win from Everton, not won in 20 years

Newcastle got rid of the cycle of successive defeats in the English Premier League and snatched a precious 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday in the 21st stage of the competition.

Newcastle today achieved its first victory after five consecutive defeats in the competition, and it was also his first victory in his last ten matches in the competition, bringing his tally to 22 points in sixteenth place.

And Everton stuck at 33 points, in seventh place.

The first half of the match ended with a goalless draw, and then Callum Wilson scored the two goals of the match for Newcastle in the 73rd and third minutes of the stoppage time of the match, to be Newcastle's first victory over Everton at home in the league in more than ten years.

Wilson had scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over Everton in the first leg of the league game this season.

This is the first time that Newcastle has beat Everton back and forth in a single season since beating 1/3 and 6/2 in the 2001/02 season.

And the victory is only the second for Newcastle in the last 17 games he played against Everton at the last stadium in the English Premier League, against ten defeats and five draws.

Newcastle's only previous victory in these 17 games was 1-0 in September 2010.

Newcastle won today only his third victory in the matches he fought away in the Premier League this season and is the first away from his stadium since his victory over Crystal Palace 2-0 on November 27th.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert Lewin failed to score against Newcastle for the first time in the last five matches between the two Premier League teams, after scoring five goals in the past four matches between the two teams.
