Milan shake off the dust of two defeats and consolidate their position at the top of the Italian league

Milan strengthened its position at the top of the Italian football league, after defeating its host Bologna 1/2 on Saturday in the twentieth stage of the competition.

Ante Rebi opened the scoring for Milan in the 26th minute of a follow-up shot by Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic from a penalty kick and was saved by goalkeeper Lukas Skurupski.

Frank Casey added Milan's second goal from a penalty kick in the 55th minute, before Bologna responded with a single goal by Andrea Poli in the 81st minute.

Milan raised its score to 46 points in the lead, five points ahead of its closest rivals, Inter Milan, who is in second place, who can reduce the difference again through its match in the same stage, scheduled today against Benevento, while Bologna stuck at 20 points in thirteenth place.

Milan thus regained its taste for victories again after losing its last match in the league against Atlanta, 0/3 last Saturday, and losing to Inter Milan 1/2 last Tuesday in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup.
