Manchester United rebelled Thursday in a statement against the racist insults uttered by "brainless idiots" on social networks against its players Alex Tuanzebe and Anthony Martial, after the home defeat Wednesday against the last red Sheffield United (2-1 ).

"We condemn them with the greatest firmness"

“Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racist slurs these players received via social media after last night's game.

We condemn them with the greatest firmness ", wrote the club which specifies to have been comforted to see" other supporters also condemn them on the social networks ".

Two players were particularly targeted: defender Alex Tuanzebe, who had a difficult first start this season, and Frenchman Anthony Martial whose passivity on the second goal, after a loss of the ball, had been criticized by the former Red Devil Rio Ferdinand on BT Sports, along with other players.

A difficult first tenure for Tuanzebe

"Manchester United has no tolerance for any form of racism", and if "identifying these anonymous brainless idiots is complicated", the club "strongly encourages social media platforms and regulatory authorities to strengthen preventive measures against this type of behavior ”.
