She is standing in a cold ski stadium in Falun.

The forecast says minus twelve degrees this weekend, probably even colder.

- I am extra sensitive when it gets cold and have previously frozen my hands and feet several times, says Frida Karlsson and tells about when she became ill after once competing in minus 17 degrees.

- I prefer plus 20 and to go in sports tops and shorts.

I simply do not like the cold and freeze easily.

But I'm good at dressing.

Now I have three underwear on and it is obvious with mittens.

Over time, I have learned little tricks to cope with the cold, such as drinking very hot, keeping the trachea clean and not coughing more than you need.

Vomited by the pictures

Frida Karlsson's great respect for skiing in the cold made her particularly affected when she recently saw the pictures of cross-country skiers who froze both hands and feet during a competition in the cross-country cup in Switzerland.

- No, fy.

I vomited every time I opened the phone and saw those pictures.

That's awful.

They will get but for life.

Nobody wants that.

If I had ridden that race, I would have competed in a down jacket and with a number tag on the outside.

Frida Karlsson shakes her head and continues:

- It was stupid to run that race, but at the same time it is easy to be hindsight.

TT: Are you confident with the cold limits in the World Cup?

(minus 20 degrees)

- Yes it's me.

Wants to take over the throne

Ahead of this weekend's World Cup competitions in Falun, many are looking forward to the match between Frida Karlsson and Norwegian Therese Johaug.

A duel that in the long run can become a classic in the ski circus.

At the same time, Norwegian leaders have signaled that Johaug got a food for thought after losing to Karlsson on the three-mile run at Holmenkollen last year.

- If you sit on the throne, you should not make it comfortable.

Otherwise we others will do something wrong.

I will do everything to take over that throne, says Frida Karlsson and smiles behind the mouthguard.

She says that the form is good and that it is a nice feeling to be able to ride on the regular competition tracks this year.

- Now it will be completely different tracks than last year when the organizers found a solution when there was a shortage of snow.

Now it will be really good.

She explains that the feeling during the races becomes more important than the weekend's results.

- I want to feel strong, be able to complete the plan and keep the pressure on the crest.

If you manage it, the results also usually come.

Frida Karlsson will ride all three races in Falun.

Also Sunday's sprint, but then in the club uniform because she did not qualify for the sprint national team but is in the national group.

- I have shown that I can ride well in both distance and sprint and do not want to be stamped in any compartment, says Frida Karlsson.
