In mid-January, a giant deal was made in the NBA involving a total of four clubs, when superstar James Harden went from Houston to Brooklyn.

One of the players affected by the deal was Brooklyn's Caris LeVert who went to the Indiana Pacers.

But when the 26-year-old underwent a medical examination at his new club, the doctors made a shocking discovery: LeVert had a tumor on his left kidney.

Now the Pacers announce that he has undergone a successful operation to remove the tumor, and he is expected to make a full recovery without any further treatment.

However, no forecast has been given for when he may be back on the basketball court.

LeVert: "Felt 100 percent healthy"

He himself says he is grateful for the trio - which may have saved his life.

- I had no symptoms and had not missed a single match this season.

I felt 100 percent healthy.

So in a way, this trio revealed what was actually going on in my body, says LeVert.

The American has averaged 18.5 points and six assists per game this season for Brooklyn, and was the leading player in the team's second lineup behind superduo Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

He is now receiving support from his new teammates in Indiana.

- Caris will fit in perfectly with us whenever it happens, but right now we should not worry about basketball.

We want him to keep fighting through this.

That would be the biggest victory for our entire organization, Myles Turner told ESPN.
