On the night of January 27, former Irtysh footballer Yegor Drobysh tragically died in Omsk.

He passed away at the age of 21.

On Wednesday morning, one of the city publics in Omsk on VKontakte told about the accident with the stabbing.

A user named Denis Melchakov reported that his brother and his friend were attacked at night.

As a result, one of them was hospitalized, and the other died.

“Yesterday, January 26, from 11 pm to midnight, two young people passed by.

They were attacked, both were cut, one died, the other was in intensive care.

Later, in a conversation with Novy Omsk, the man confirmed that the former footballer Yegor Drobysh was killed.

The attack took place at the intersection of Magistralnaya and XIX Party Congress streets in the town of Neftyanikov.

Some users of social networks in the comments to the news noted that it is dangerous to visit this area at night.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Omsk Region announced the initiation of criminal cases on the facts of the death of Drobysh and the attempt on the life of his 22-year-old friend.

According to investigators, the attack took place at night on Magistralnaya Street.

An unknown man stabbed the young people and then fled.

One of the victims died on the spot, and the second was hospitalized in serious condition.

Investigative measures have been launched to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the guilty person.

“Investigative actions are underway.

The forces of the most experienced employees of the criminal investigation department have been thrown into solving this crime, ”said Aleksey Komandykov, head of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Omsk Region.

The football player's friend was urgently taken to the Clinical Medical and Surgical Center, where he was successfully operated on.

According to doctors, the attacker used a knife with a long blade, but he did not manage to hurt the heart, thanks to which the victim's life was saved.

On the morning of January 27, he came to his senses and had already talked with the investigators.

According to the publication, Drobysh and his friend were returning late at night from a store selling beer.

Both were drunk at the same time.

Several people attacked them with a knife.

The Omsk publication Om1 noted that Drobysh's body was found about 200 meters from the alleged attack site.

There were no witnesses or surveillance cameras that could record the crime.

Drobysh's death was also reported by his former club, posting the news on its official website.

In the past, he regularly appeared on the field as part of the Omsk youth team and was one of its leaders.

In the main team of Irtysh, the young man played three matches as a holding midfielder in the Vostok zone of the Professional Football League.

He came on as a substitute in May 2019 in the final rounds of the season, playing a total of 17 minutes.
