Shinsegae Group E-Mart, which has decided to take over the professional baseball SK Wyverns, is expected to participate normally in the 2021 season without any major problems.

There is not much time to prepare, but there are no problems with the rules.

For Shinsegae to participate in the KBO League starting this year, the SK club must first apply for the transfer of membership to the Korean Baseball Commission (KBO).

In addition, various documents, such as an application for new club membership, must be submitted.

According to the convention, clubs that change controlling shareholders must apply to the governor for approval of the transfer of the club by November 30 of the previous year.

However, the governor may adjust the application deadline if there is a legitimate reason deemed urgent.

A KBO official said, "There is no problem with the change of controlling shareholders in the procedure as the regulations specify exceptions."

After that, they must pass the deliberation of the KBO Board of Directors and obtain the approval of at least two-thirds of the current members at the general meeting.

After approval is completed, the membership registration process is completed when the subscription fee is paid.

Shinsegae has already formed a working-level team to prepare for the foundation, and then started the preparation process.

Shinsegae announced on the day that "the team name, emblem, character, etc. will be confirmed soon and officially launched in March."

As Shinsegae announced that it will employ 100% of the existing coaches, athletes, and front staff, it is expected to minimize the time-consuming problem caused by personnel.
