The Swedish Championship finals are the given highlight of a long floorball season - a match on the women's and men's side decides which teams will be allowed to call themselves Swedish champions.

Traditionally, the Swedish Championship finals in floorball are a big folk festival in front of packed stands.

- We want to invite our viewers to decisive SM gold fights directly on SVT and the SM finals in floorball fit perfectly into the big bet.

Floorball is a sport that many people have a relationship with and the Swedish Championship finals are usually a big folk festival that belongs on national television, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

Last year's playoffs were canceled

On Saturday 24 April, the Swedish Championship finals will be played in floorball.

It will be the first final day in two years, as last year's playoffs were canceled.

In 2020, Iksu was named champion on the women's side when the team topped the table when the season closed.

On the men's side, the Swedish Championship gold went to IBF Falun, who won a basic series that had time to be played.

- Considering that the final game was canceled last year, I think the teams are a little extra tagged on reaching all the way this year.

The final matches usually offer both great drama and many goals, so I really look forward to commenting on the matches, says SVT's commentator Chris Härenstam.

The last time SVT broadcast floorball's SM finals was in 2017. Now SVT has secured the rights to broadcast the finals both in 2021 and 2022.
