• Football. The critical economic situation of FC Barcelona: 1,173 million in debt, 730 in the short term

The managing board of Barça has confirmed March 7 as the final date for the elections to be held for the club's presidency, to which the candidacies of

Joan Laporta

,

Víctor Font

and

Toni Freixa are running

.

The day will last from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and you can vote both in person at six venues and through the mail, after the Generalitat proceeded to the mandatory modification of the Catalan Sports Law to make it possible.

Finally, you can vote in person at the club's facilities, in Barcelona, as well as in Tarragona, Lleida, Gerona, Tortosa and Andorra.

The option of setting up offices in Madrid, Valencia, Seville and Palma de Mallorca, in this case, has been rejected due to the provision that the mobility limitations currently in force will remain until the elections.

Something that would make it impossible for said venues to fulfill the intended purpose of allowing the vote of the members residing in the corresponding autonomous community and the adjacent ones.

In Barcelona there will be 111 polling stations, distributed between the

Camp Nou

and the

Palau Blaugrana

.

In

Lleida

there will be two tables, located in the Delegation of the Catalan Football Federation.

In Gerona, for its part, five tables will be set up in the

Fontajau Pavilion

.

Tarragona

, in this case, will have three tables, installed in the Camp Clar Sports Center.

Finally, Tortosa and Andorra will each have a polling station, installed in the Delegation of the Catalan Football Federation and the Andorra la Vella Commune Congress Center, respectively.

The deadlines to request the vote by mail, meanwhile, have also been defined.

Members who wish to exercise it may request it through a

form on the club's website

between January 29 and February 9, indicating whether they wish to vote from home or do so generally.

A Post Office official will be in charge of delivering the ballots and the envelope, after certifying the identity of the member, and, in the event that he or she has chosen to vote from home, collect their vote directly.

Meanwhile, the members who take advantage of the general mail vote must deliver it to the corresponding Post Office between February 15 and 26.

The total count of the votes cast, both those cast in person and those corresponding to voting by mail, will finally take place as soon as the election day of March 7 ends.
