Juventus booked a problem-free victory in Serie A on Sunday. The reigning champion was 2-0 too strong for Bologna in-house.

Matthijs de Ligt returned to Juventus as a substitute after a corona infection.

In Belgium Club Brugge settled partly due to goals by Bas Dost and Ruud Vormer with the KRC Genk of John van den Brom.

Juventus was the boss in Turin from the first minute.

Juan Cuadrado missed a big chance, but after fifteen minutes of play it was a fortune hit.

Arthur shot from about 25 meters on goal and his effort disappeared via Jerdy Schouten, who, like Mitchell Dijks, was in the base at Bologna, in the other corner.

It remained exciting for a long time because, among others, top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo, Federico Bernardeschi and Cuadrado killed big chances and thus the margin remained small.

Weston McKennie decided the game in the 71st minute.

The talented midfielder headed home from a corner from Cuadrado.

Fifteen minutes before the end, De Ligt made his return to Juventus.

The Dutchman was tested positive for the corona virus at the beginning of January and therefore missed the last four matches of the team of trainer Andrea Pirlo, including the battle for the Italian super cup against Napoli (2-0 win).

With the victory, Juventus is again catching up with leader AC Milan and number two Internazionale, who lost to Atalanta (0-3) and drawn against Udinese (0-0) respectively earlier this weekend.

The club from Turin, which played one game less than the clubs from Milan, is now seven points behind AC Milan and five points behind Inter.

Dost, Vormer and Lang are worth gold for Bruges

Leader Club Brugge did excellent business in the Jupiler Pro League by dealing with number two KRC Genk at home: 3-2.

The Dutchmen Dost, Vormer and Noa Lang had leading roles.

Bruges now has a lead of twelve points over Genk.

The 31-year-old Dost only needed seven minutes to also score in his fourth game for Bruges.

The striker did so on the instructions of Lang.

The Genk of Van den Brom had the lead halfway through: Junya Ito and Bastien Toma were accurate for the visitors.

Club Brugge turned the backlog after the break and the Dutch were again important.

Vormer made it 2-2 halfway through the second half and thirteen minutes before the end, defender Brandon Mechele signed for the 3-2 again on the advice of Lang.
