Patrik Laine has one of the league's best shots, and has been one of the top scorers since making his NHL debut.

But staying in Winnipeg, which drafted him as number two overall in 2016, has not been something he has been craving.

However, there have not been any concrete good alternatives for Winnipeg to switch to Laine - until now.

Because after it came out that Pierre-Luc Dubois requested a trade, speculation began about an exchange between Columbus and Winnipeg.

After Dubois was benched after just four minutes of ice time against Tampa Bay on Thursday, the talk of a change began to pick up speed.

And now they have agreed.

Laine and Jack Roslovic, who come from Columbus, go to the Ohio Club.

In addition to Dubois, Winnipeg will also have a third choice in the 2022 draft.
