Times are tough for Liverpool.

The English champion lost for the first time in four years at Anfield in the Premier League, against Burnley.

A penalty from Ashley Barnes in the 83rd allowed the visitors to take three unexpected points in impregnable land.

Jurgen Klopp says he is responsible for this first home setback since April 2017.

“It's always possible to lose a game and that's what we did and it's my fault.

My job is to get the boys to have the right feeling, the right amount of confidence, to make the right decisions, that sort of thing, and obviously that didn't work out tonight.

We had the ball a lot, we created a few chances, it was all decent, but in the decisive moments, our decision making is not so good, obviously.

This is our problem.

"

A savory program for the end of January

Liverpool are 4th in the Premier League and are now six points behind leaders Manchester United, whom the Reds will face in two days in the FA Cup, before moving to the lawn of Tottenham, who are behind them in the league.

This January could cost Klopp's men dearly if they don't wake up quickly.
