On Sunday morning, Swedish time, Conor McGregor and the American Dustin Poirier meet for the second time.

The first match, in September 2014, was short-lived and McGregor knocked out Poirier in the first round just as he had promised in advance.

This time, the Dublin son came up with an even more cocky proposal that he should knock out his opponent in just one minute.

Something he sticks to now that the match is only a couple of days away.

Want to compete more in 2021

- Yes I do.

I have total self-confidence about my abilities and my preparations.

I do not think he can handle the power of my kind.

But I would like to go a few rounds so I will only be happy if it goes further than that, says McGregor on site in Abu Dhabi and develops:

- There are question marks about my condition so some of me would like the fight to go a little further.

In 2020, I only got 40 seconds of competition and that is far too little.

I need more than that.

"Will deliver a spotless effort"

Conor McGregor has made a name for himself in the MMA world, among other things, by predicting in which round, and in what way, he will finish his opponents - and then go out and deliver.

This was also the case in his last match, a year ago, against Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone.

The 32-year-old says that he has great admiration for this weekend's opponent, Dustin Poirier, who is ranked second in the world among the challengers to the champion belt in lightweight (70.3 kilos).

McGregor himself is ranked fourth.

- I will deliver a spotless effort.

With that said, I have great respect for Dustin and think he is a fantastic fighter.

But being amazing still means you are several levels below what I am.
