"One of the infected is a player who is in severe quarantine, because he arrived here with one of the planes where we have had positive cases," said Lisa Neville, Victoria's State Police.

Among the new found infected are another tennis player and a person in his team.

The Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne starts on February 8 and all tennis players and leaders who must participate must spend two weeks in hotel quarantine.

Bautista Agut apologizes

Most are allowed to leave the hotel and train five hours a day, but about 70 players who have flown with someone infected, among them Swedish Elias Ymer, have been forced to strict quarantine, which means that they are not allowed to go outside their hotel rooms during two weeks.

More than 1,000 people, players and their staff, flew to Australia on 17 chartered flights last week.

The organizer has since received many complaints from players in quarantine.

The Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut has called it a prison with wifi, a statement he later apologized for, and world setter Novak Djokovic has demanded to serve the quarantine period in private homes with tennis courts, instead of in hotels.
