When Nina Ortlieb, who has taken two podium places in the World Cup, crashed, training was interrupted for about 45 minutes.

The Austrian was taken to hospital for examination, but how bad it is has not yet been known.

Ortlieb's real breakthrough came in 2020. Both podium places came in February when she first finished third in Crans-Montana before winning the super-G competition in Italian La Thuile.

The Alpine World Cup has suffered many knee injuries recently, including Ortlieb's teammate Bernadette Schild as one of the victims.

The fastest in today's training was the Italian Sofia Goggia.

The ladies compete in Crans-Montana from Friday to Sunday.

It starts with a two-day downhill race before driving the super-G on Sunday.
