Linus Lundqvist, who drove for Global Racing Group last season, dominated the American Formula 3 championship by far and won 15 of 17 races.

Now the team has teamed up with HMD who have merits from Indy Lights.

- Linus has a clear goal and we look forward to helping him achieve it, says Christian Pedersen, team manager of Global Racing Group, in a press release.

Last year's overall victory gave the Tyresö driver a scholarship from the engine supplier and this has partly made the investment in Indy Lights possible.

The series has long been an important springboard for talent to take the final step to Indycar.

It is noteworthy that no less than 23 and the 33 drivers in last year's Indy500 passed Indy Lights.

Rewarded with an Indycar test

The top three in this year's championship will be rewarded with an Indycar test.

The winner is guaranteed three starts in Indycar 2022.

The 2021 Indy Lights calendar includes ten races starting at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama April 9-11.

Rasmus Lindh is the second Swede in this year's Indy Lights. The 19-year-old from Gothenburg finished second in the Indy Pro 2000 series 2019.
