Bayern Munich is waiting for the winner of Al-Ahly and Al-Duhail in the World Cup clubs

Bayern Munich will try to add a sixth successive title to its coffers, when it competes in the World Club Championship, scheduled in Doha, Qatar, from February 4 to 11.

The Bavarian team will start the competition from the semi-finals, and the winner will meet the Qatari host Al Duhail match or Al Ahly of Egypt, the African champion, according to the draw held today in Zurich.

The draw also resulted in a confrontation between Mexican club Tigres, the CONCACAF champion (North and Central America and the Caribbean), with the Asian champion Ulsan Hyundai, South Korea.

The winner will qualify against Tigres and Ulsan to face the South American champion, who will be decided after the final match scheduled for the 30th at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, which brings together the Brazilian teams Santos and Palmeiras.

European clubs have monopolized the title of this competition since 2013, and Liverpool won last year.

The World Club Championship was scheduled to be held last December, but was postponed to February due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Two days ago, the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) confirmed the withdrawal of Auckland, New Zealand, the champion of the continent of Oceania, due to the repercussions of the new Corona virus, and thus the start of the tournament was delayed by three days, to start on the fourth of next month.

As part of the measures to prevent the spread of the virus, the organizers announced that attendance will be limited to "residents who hold personal identity cards, citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and holders of exceptional entry permits, in accordance with the protocols of entry visas to Qatar."

Fans must wear the muzzle and adhere to social distancing in the stadiums and surrounding areas, and undergo a temperature check upon arrival at the stadium, and show the health status in green on the precaution application designed to track cases infected with the virus in Qatar.

Clinics will be set up inside each stadium to treat anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19.
