The ski world's major dominant in recent years, Therese Johaug, will not be part of the Norwegian team in the sprint relay in the upcoming world championships in Oberstdorf.

After the Norwegian championships this weekend, she said that she is not relevant for the distance, even though she told the Norwegian news agency NTB a year ago that she would like to run it.

- I will not run team sprints in the WC.

I have far too little experience of competing in larger fields.

It is probably completely different to compete in team sprint than to ride a regular distance race, she said according to Finnish Yle, and continued:

- You have to go with many others, and it is a battle for positions and close duels.

I have not ridden a single team sprint in the World Cup.

However, Johaug will not miss medal chances.

As it looks now, she will run four disciplines: Skiathlon, 10 km freestyle, 30 km classic and relay.

In the WC 2019, she took gold in all three individual races she ran, as well as silver in the relay.
