It was a dramatic final minutes when Sweden beat the home nation Egypt in the last group game.

After Sweden picked up a four-goal deficit at the break in the middle of the second half, the team followed all the way to the end.

With one and a half minutes left, Linus Persson put 24-23.

Egypt had a long last attack with several free throws but Sweden was compact in defense.

Egypt came to a difficult final finish which Mikael Aggefors in goal picked down and Sweden won 24-23.

Sweden had great difficulties in the attacking game throughout the first half.

The width was lacking and the game became more and more concentrated in the middle.

Jim Gottfridsson tried to threaten in attack but was all too lonely.

After 25 minutes, Sweden had only scored seven goals.

Once Sweden got through the Egyptian defense through Hampus Sandell on the right nine at the end of the first half, Egypt's goalkeeper Karim Hendawy stood in the way.

At the break, the Swedish deficit was 9-12.

Then Andreas Palicka had only made one save while Hendawy had 40 in save percentage.

But Sweden, with substitute Mikael Aggefors in goal, got in touch in the second half.

Egypt began to be careless and play individually at the same time as Linus Persson got started on his right-wing position.

With 20 minutes left of the match, Sweden rolled up for Persson who got an open street and slammed in 15-16.

It was Persson who with his sixth goal fixed 17-17.

When Hampus Wanne put 18-17 on penalties, Sweden was in the lead for the first time in the match.

The teams were followed goal-oriented at the end of the match.

But in the 53rd minute, Sweden got a two-goal lead when Linus Persson after a rock hard bet made 22-20.
