Dutch alpine skier Adriana Jelinkova has unofficially qualified for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.
25-year-old Jelinkova, born in the Czech Republic and raised in the Netherlands, finished eleventh in giant slalom at the World Cup in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
Since Jelinkova had already finished tenth in Lech, Austria, in November of last year, she has met the qualification requirements of the NOC * NSF sports umbrella.
She had to finish in the top eight once in a World Cup or twice in the top sixteen.
The placement of Jelinkova is not yet entirely certain, because Maurits Hendriks, technical director of NOC * NSF, has yet to give his approval.
Jelinkova would become the first alpine skier to represent the Netherlands at the Olympic Games since Margriet Prajoux-Bouma at the 1952 Games in Oslo.
