The talent drain, new episodes coming very soon?

On Wednesday, Juventus Turin formalized the arrival on loan (option to buy 1.5 million euros) of the young attacking midfielder of the Canaries, Abdoulaye Dabo, aged 20 soon.

Other Nantes shoots could also pack their bags in a few weeks, without having had the time and the chance to be able to express themselves with the big boys.

The chronic instability on the bench of FC Nantes, the absence of a clear policy on the management of young people and an often azimuth recruitment among the pros explain this premature exile of young hopefuls, like Trebel, Dubois or Kwateng these last years.

A glance at three hot issues of the moment at La Jonelière.

Batista Mendy, out of the closet too late

Batista Mendy (21) had been excluded from the professional group since October because he refused to extend his contract, which expires in June.

A ban assumed by the management of the FCN.

The midfielder was finally allowed to return to pro sessions on Tuesday.

A request made by President Waldemar Kita to Raymond Domenech this weekend.

This unexpected return should not change anything for the future of the player, who has evolved only 29 minutes in pro (in Monaco) in his young career.

"There is no longer any negotiation," explains a person close to the file.

Management made a wobbly extension offer.

But, more than the financial aspect, it is blocked at the sporting level for Batista.

The native of Saint-Nazaire can sign where he wants from now on.

Angers, Rennes and especially Brest are on the lookout, but the midfielder is also very much courted in Germany.

A departure in June seems inevitable.

Randal Kolo Muani, towards a departure in June?

A year ago, many FCN followers and supporters barely knew him.

Today, Randal Kolo Muani (22), who has a year and a half left on his contract, is at the heart of a Gordian knot.

"There is no progress at all in the negotiations, blows the entourage of the attacker.

We do not feel a real desire to extend it.

"Philippe Mao, sports coordinator of the FCN, takes issue with this.

He regrets that the financial demands of the Kolo Muani clan are far too high.

A six-figure salary and a nice overtime bonus are claimed.

“We have a uniform pricing policy with the club's youth,” he explains.

We do not want to overbid and we want to keep our line of conduct.

"And when he is told that players like Coulibaly or Limbombe, hardly to their advantage, earn very high salaries, he retorts that these elements had proved more at the highest level when they were signed ... An argument, however, hardly audible for the supporters in the light of the performance for example of a Limbombe, the most expensive purchase in the history of the club in 2018 (between 8 and 10 million euros).

The sports coordinator ends up admitting, however, that the case of Kolo Muani (17 tenure in L1), tracked by Glasgow, two Spanish clubs, an Italian club and many German formations, makes "a lot of thinking" a management, which is aware of having great offensive talent.

A rare "commodity" in France, and especially in Jonelière ... Raymond Domenech, under the spell, could even push President Kita to make a big effort on this case.

In the meantime, if no common ground for an extension is found in the coming weeks, the FCN will have to resolve to sell it this summer to make the most of it financially.

Thomas Basila wants to come out of the shadows by leaving

Thomas Basila, 21 years old.

He too is at the end of his contract in June.

The negotiations for an extension are also at a standstill.

"We have the idea of continuing with the FCN with game guarantees, but these guarantees are not brought to us by the club", indicates a relative of the player, who also denounces "a proposal at a discount".

The central defender has not started in an official match for a year.

It was January 18 in the Coupe de France against Lyon (defeat 4-3).

Ten days later, Utrecht (Dutch D1) offered in the last hours of the transfer window a loan with an option to buy Basila.

Transaction refused by coach Christian Gourcuff, who however will never again put the player in an official match (no appearance this season) until his dismissal in December.

"Against PSG, at the end of October, when it lacked plenty of central defenders, it was Abeid, midfielder, who had retreated a notch and Thomas had remained on the bench," plague another close to Basila.

Utrecht and Fortuna Düsseldorf are following the central defender's situation more closely than ever at the start.
