Ekström and Bergkvist suffered two (!) Drive shaft breaks and with only front-wheel drive, it became an impossible task to complete the stage for their own machine.
- So now we sit here in the car and get towed.
Soon we hope for a shower and a good dinner, says Ekström.
He made his debut in the dreaded rally in the Lightweight Vehicles class - lightweight cars - and was officially forced to throw in the towel in the middle of the rally on the longest distance when the engine cut.
But as the organizer would like newcomers to have the chance to finish the rally, the Swedes continued the competition.
- We have experienced a lot during these days.
It has been really tough but we have really got more taste for the Dakar Rally.
