This weekend's men's slalom competitions were first to be run in Wengen, but were moved to Kitzbühel.

After a corona outbreak in the region, they were moved once more - to Flachau.

- I said a little jokingly to my serviceman that "do not hope there will be a double in Kitzbühel, everything else is fine".

I think the hill profile in Flachau suits me better and is similar to the profile on the home hill in Storklinten.

Coming to a hill that not many people have ridden before, I think will benefit me, says Kristoffer Jakobsen to SVT Sport.

"Then it will go too slowly"

Jakobsen believes that the key to a good placement this weekend is to dare to be on the border.

- You must not be afraid of failing and driving out because then it will go too slowly.

I'm probably one of those who will dare to gas more in the first, then it will be more even in the second.

The keys to success

This season, stability has improved.

Jakobsen has delivered some of his best results and in recent competitions he has lined up fast rides.

- I have had a lot of training myself without stress and we have had a lot of time on the slopes.

There has not been much focus on the watch, but we have really trained the position pieces in the spinal cord and hoped the speed remained.

I have my own serviceman this year and have not had to share, which I think is a big part of the success this year.

With the success, the attention has become greater.

Something he noticed in the form of messages, comments and that more people are aware of him.

- Above all, I think it's fun and it's above all fun that the riding is starting to get good.

That it gets noticed is just a bonus.
