He has long been seen as a talent beyond the ordinary and made himself known around the world through his spectacular Zorra goals, but the step over to NHL hockey can be big even for the best.

But Nils Höglander showed no signs of nervousness or uncertainty when Vancouver beat Edmonton 5-3 - quite the opposite.

In the second period, Höglander stayed ahead on a return and was able to push in 2-1 to the Canucks.

The talent's first NHL goal was thus a fact.

- It was a very nice feeling, says Höglander at the press conference after the match.

And with a little luck, Höglander could also get an assist on Bo Horvat's first goal.

Tribute to Canada

In addition to his goal, Höglander stood for a good effort and was matched together with chain mates Bo Horvat and Tanner Pearson hard against superstar Connor McDavid who went scoreless.

- It is clear that I was nervous at first, but it felt good.

Our chain played a good match and they (Horvat and Pearson reds.anm) are two really good NHL players, says Höglander.

After the match, Höglander was praised for his efforts by the Canadian television commentators.

- He is sensationally good in his debut.

Nice speed and ingenuity.

The team's second Swede, Elias Pettersson, provided an assist to one of Brock Boeser's two goals.
