"I will work harder than ever to be back as soon as possible," the football defender wrote on Instagram.

Jansson writes that he has had problems with his ankle for months.

"Yesterday we decided that the ankle needed surgery and everything went well!", Writes the Brentford player.

TV4's Fotbollskanalen has spoken with Sweden's assistant national team captain Peter Wettergren who comments on the injury as follows:

- You should actually talk to those in our rehab team.

I knew about this but have not been in contact with him myself, says Wettergren.

- We hope that it will go as well as possible for him of course and we will follow the development and have close contacts with him.

Jansson played last year from the start in both Sweden's meetings with Portugal, as well as the home game with France and the away game with Croatia in the Nations League.

The Championship club announces that Jansson will be out for a while, but that the goal is for him to be able to play again at the end of the season and be available for games in the European Championships this summer.
