When the Swedish rally was forced to throw in the towel for this year's competition, the Finnish World Cup organizer was already in the starting blocks.
In a short time, the Artic Rally, which has previously hosted many international winter rallies, has got all the pieces in place.
- Ever since we received the news about the Swedish rally in December, we have worked hard with the organizer AKK in Rovaniemi.
Even though there are only 44 days left until the rally, we know that they will succeed in maintaining the same high standard as the Finnish Rally in August, says Jona Siebel, CEO of WRC Promoter GmbH.
The organizership currently only applies to this year's WC calendar and begins with evening runs on Friday 26 February.
On Saturday, three distances are run twice, while Sunday includes Power Stage.
A total of 260 km of special distances.
Artic Rally will be the second rally in this year's WC series.
The Monte Carlo rally is first out January 21-24.
Swedish Television continues its major investment in the World Rally Championship and broadcasts many hours from the premiere.
