Tonight, Sweden enters the World Handball Championship.

After a corona outburst by the premier opponent Czech Republic, the nation dropped out and the new opponent is Northern Macedonia.

- We have to adjust a bit, there are other individuals on the court who have different knowledge than the players in the Czech Republic, says Jonathan Carlsbogård to the association.

The news came just days before the premiere.

- It was especially clear, but it is something that we have had to be prepared for teams to ride on the corona.

We heard early on that there were cases in the Czech Republic, so already there they were vigilant that a change could take place.

"There we have to put a lot of work"

Carlsbogård sees some keys in tonight's match for it to be a victory for Sweden.

- We will stick to our own game and basic principles in the defense.

They have two very good line players, so we have to put in a lot of work.

It is important that we run a lot and counter, he says.

"Very shitty timing"

The Lemgo player is a two-way player who is expected to become a key player for Sweden.

But there was great uncertainty as to whether he would be ready to play.

He had his big breakthrough last season in the Bundesliga and was rewarded with being selected to the national team for the first time in the European Championship qualifiers in November.

He was allowed to start against Romania but suffered a broken leg.

- It was sour of course, very shitty timing.

I just tried to get back to training and games as soon as possible to increase the chances of being selected, he says.

He has only had time to play one match in the league after the injury and is unsure of what the form looks like.

- I do not know, hard to say.

We shall see.

Sweden - Northern Macedonia starts at 20.30.
