HV71 and Linköping have met three times earlier this season - two of them the Jönköping team has won.

In the first period, the home team HV71 made both 1-0 and 2-0.

The lead goal was scored by Elin Svensson and the extension came on a penalty - and it was the points league runner-up Kennedy Marchmant who put it there.

LHC reduced

Linköping needed to pull themselves together - and in the second period they did.

Five minutes into the second period, Carly Bullock reduced the lead for the away team - to 2-1.

Good tempo, hard close matches and fun to play - so HV player Ronja Mogren summed up the match before the third period and adds.

- We are having a good period even though Linköping is picking up pace and it will be smoother.

HV71 won in overtime

But with less than three minutes left of the third period, the equalizer came to 2-2 and the match went to extra time.

There, HV71 would decide the match.

The Jönköping team won for the third time against Linköping this season and took a grip on third place in the table.
