Professional baseball player Hiroshima announced that infielder Mejia was positive in the PCR test for the new coronavirus in the Dominican Republic.

According to the team, Mejia was tested positive for the new coronavirus on January 11 in preparation for his arrival in Japan from the Dominican Republic.

He has no symptoms and is receiving medical treatment at home.

Mejia was born in the Carp Academy in the Dominican Republic, and last season, his fourth year, played 37 games with 15 hits and two home runs.

As a future response, the team will prepare for coming to Japan after performing PCR tests twice, 10 days and 14 days after January 11th, and after a negative result, and after conducting a third PCR test before traveling. If it is negative, it will be possible to come to Japan.
