63 goals and 47 assists in 68 games.

This is the impressive total of OL's winter rookie Catarina Macario in the American university championship.

Aged 21, the offensive midfielder committed this Tuesday until June 30, 2023 in Lyon.

A native of Sao Luis, Brazil, she moved in 2011 with her parents in an attempt to become a professional footballer.

With Stanford, she won the National College Championship (NCAA) in 2017 and 2019.

Her pretty crazy statistics also allowed her to be voted best college footballer at the end of the last two seasons.

Naturalized American last October, Catarina Macario was immediately called for two gatherings with Megan Rapinoe and the reigning world champions.

Tipped to be the first choice of the 2021 draft, she therefore made the choice to launch her professional career with the seven-time European champions.

"It is a pleasure to find myself surrounded by the best players in the world," indicates the promising Lyon midfielder.

OL represent victories, titles, trophies and I can't wait to be part of this team.

I know a lot of American players have worn this jersey before me.

It is a great pride to be able to perpetuate this heritage and to be able to contribute to the success of the team.

The last time there was such enthusiasm around a young female recruit in Lyon, it was in 2014 when a certain Ada Hegerberg, then aged 19, arrived.
