The rise of the
coronavirus
pandemic
in the Valencian Community, with an increase in positives last week of 72.30% and the highest hospital occupancy rate in the country, will paralyze Valencian football, from
Preferential
onwards, and also the
futsal
.
The Valencian Community Soccer Federation (
FFCV
) has made the decision to suspend competitions until January 31.
"Football does not live on the fringes of society and, although the incidence of contagion is minimal, less than 1%, we want to be in solidarity with the situation that exists," explained President
Salvador Gomar
.
"In addition,
municipal facilities are being closed
and that makes it very difficult for us to develop the sessions, which will be held between March and April on dates that were scheduled for postponed games," he added.
This decision does not affect the national categories, First, Second, Second B and Third, and adds to the suspension until the end of the month of all football 8 (junior, youngest and junior) and futsal to comply with the ban on the Generalitat to contest sports competitions, amateur and professional, of minors enrolled in Primary.
This suspension has been thanked by the Ministry of Health as a gesture of "solidarity" from the FFCV, which has made all its facilities available to the Generalitat.
