Six days after the announcement of the termination of Stéphane Ruffier's contract, ASSE issued a new terse press release on Sunday.

This time it is the general manager of the club Xavier Thuilot who is leaving Saint-Etienne.

"The club thanks Xavier Thuilot for the work accomplished as director general of services and wishes him every success in his future professional projects", indicates the management of ASSE.

Close to Claude Puel since his collaboration with him at Losc, Xavier Thuilot arrived in Forez in October 2019, at the same time as the current manager.

The latter's reaction to the departure of Xavier Thuilot will therefore be scrutinized on Friday, during his press conference preceding the match in Strasbourg on Sunday (3 p.m.).

His replacement should be Jean-François Soucasse, as revealed by several media, including

A former professional midfielder, who worked for ASSE from 1995 to 1998, he held the post of general manager of TFC from 2008 to 2020. He left the Toulouse club last summer, after the arrival of the new one. Chairman Damien Comolli and the American investment fund RedBird Capital Partners.
