It was at a training session in Swiss Laax at the end of November that Sandra Näslund injured her knee.

Since then, there has been rehab training on the schedule and after a tough start to the recovery, things have gone better lately.

- It's hopeful.

It has progressed quite a lot this past week, so it still feels good.

Then there is probably a little bit left until I am back and can compete in skicross.

I still hope to be able to get started with some skiing pretty soon, she says.

Näslund, who is the reigning champion in the overall World Cup, talks about the injury period:

- It has been quite uncertain.

I did not know how fast or slow it will go.

It's been tough.

I have had to take day by day.

"That would be awesome"

Instead of the World Cup competitions in Idre, Näslund is now aiming for a possible World Cup in the same place.

Since the World Cup in China was canceled, there is now the possibility that Sweden will take over the hosting.

- I aim for that and I really hope that it will be a World Cup in Sweden and Idre.

That would be awesome.

We already know that Idre is good at arranging skicross competitions and we Swedes have many great results there.

It would be really cool to have a World Cup at home, says Näslund.

But it is of course not certain that she can be on the starting line if it is the World Cup at home.

- I do not know a hundred that I will be able to compete this winter, but I still work for it and I still believe in it.

"Tough the first competitions"

Despite Näslund's absence, Sweden has had a successful start to the skicross season with wins for David Mobärg, Viktor Andersson and Alexandra Edebo who are currently recovering from a difficult crash.

For Näslund, there have been double feelings on the TV couch.

- It was tough the first competitions.

Of course fun to see that it goes well for the team, but tough to sit at home and know that you were in good shape and that you could have been up there and fighting.
