When Tobias Abstreiter was asked about Jakub Borzecki, he could no longer hold back tears.

The coach of the German U20 national ice hockey team had to start several times to talk about his player's time at the U20 World Cup in Canada.

Borzecki landed with the team on December 14th in Edmonton and had to go into quarantine with the team.

One day before Christmas, the 18-year-old tested positive for the corona virus.

The team quarantine was followed by isolation.

Until he left, Borzecki had to spend the entire time in his room.
