- Alexander Loginov does not look as impressive this season as he could.

One gets the impression that his preparation was not very fruitful?

- In the spring, Alexander and I did a pretty good job in Saratov.

After that, they planned to hold a training camp in Ryazan and even agreed it with sponsors, but it did not work out.

The same fate befell the gathering in the mountains at Belmeken for reasons beyond our control.

Now Loginov and I communicate mainly by phone: if Sasha needs some kind of consultation, he calls me.

After the stage in Hochfilzen, we had intentions to go skating to Pokljuka, but the coronavirus again made its own adjustments - cases of diseases began in the national team.

Well, just before the New Year, Sasha was forced to return home due to his father's illness.

That is, he hardly skated.

Accordingly, nothing turns out as we would like.

One pulls the other, the third ...

- Do you explain the lack of results only by these reasons?

- Yes, somehow everything does not fit.

Either injuries or everyday problems.

In principle, Loginov was quite well prepared for full-fledged pre-season work.

But at the moment when developmental training was needed first of all, they fell through.

Before the summer championship of Russia, there was an injury, before rolling in - another one.

There is nothing wrong with that in the sense that the year allows you to slow down a little, rebuild, think, sit down calmly and detail further preparation, especially since even this season there is still time to fix everything.

- How exactly do you need to act for this?

- I have my own thoughts on this matter, which I discussed with the head coach of the men's team Yuri Kaminsky and with Sasha himself, and right now we are working on a scheme for bringing him to the World Cup in optimal condition.

Moreover, the track in Pokljuka was made as if it were Loginov: it is difficult, heavy, with good "working" climbs, a lot of turns, which Sasha knows how to work on.

It would be a shame not to take advantage of this.

- Are you not afraid that at the end of the season, if Loginov's results are not high enough, the question will be raised that there can be no continuation of individual training?

- I don't see anything wrong with that.

In general, I have always been a supporter of the athlete preparing as a team, so I will only be in favor.

And Sasha, by nature, is a team fighter, knows how to work perfectly with other athletes.

It's just that too many circumstances came together this season: Sasha moved his wife from Ukraine, they had a child, additional troubles and problems appeared.

Including - with trips to training camps.

- It looks like it turned out to be more difficult to combine work in the Bulgarian national team and cooperate with Loginov than you imagined?

- I would not say.

I knew where I was going, I understood how the work would be organized.

Yes, I planned that Sasha would spend a certain part of the preparation under my leadership together with the Bulgarian team, and he himself was not against it, especially since we had a lot of pre-season training camps at Belmeken before.

Loginov knows this height very well, knows how the adaptation goes, what kind of tracks there are.

All this failed, after all, not because the child interfered or one of us suddenly changed his mind and did not want to go somewhere.

Take the same stage of the World Cup in Kontiolahti: who could have guessed that because of the coronavirus, Sasha and I would only be able to communicate remotely, in a mode remote from each other?

The maximum they could do was to discuss some of the races in the stadium, standing two or three meters apart.

- Has Loginov caught the coronavirus?

- Hooked.

He fell ill, as they say now, asymptomatically, but it felt like it was a coronavirus infection with all the accompanying symptoms: loss of smell, general malaise.

But in general, we can say that it was lucky.

- That is, speaking globally, you are not too afraid now that Loginov is not doing everything the way you wanted?

- If we call a spade a spade, so far nothing comes together.

In the same Hochfilzen it was wrong, in my opinion, to start in the relay: at that time Loginov was very busy.

In this state, it is impossible to gain speed through the starts.

You need to skate well.

Since such work did not work out, against the background of the general workload, the shooting went away: Loginov simply could not cope with it.

The firing mode was also violated.

Remember, I said a year ago that Loginov's regime was at the turn of 22-24 seconds, and everyone was laughing at us?

However, it was in this mode that Sasha shot in his best races.

- When and how do you plan to start targeted preparations for the World Cup?

- So far, we have not discussed this issue in detail with either Loginov or Kaminsky.

But, as I said, there is time.

Sasha has a wonderful quality: he is able to mobilize at any moment.

As for Kaminsky, we have known him for many years, he always listens to those with whom he works, and most importantly, he hears them.

That is, I do not see any obstacles in order to organize the work as efficiently as possible in the time remaining before the World Cup.
