The Emirati women's race for the amateur category begins today, within the fifth edition of the Ladder Cycling Championship, which is held under the patronage and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and organized by the office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Procurement and financing.

The organizing committee completed its arrangements for two busy days over a 48-hour period. The Emirati women's amateur race will be held today, extending for 75 km, and the 157 km “elite” men's professional race will be immediately followed by tomorrow.

The organizing committee said in a statement yesterday that the "elite" women's race will be organized for the first time in a "trial" manner next February.

The elite race will be attended by Emirati professional national teams, Emirati club players and retired clubs, who have not exceeded three years from the date of retirement, and all professional women and foreign residents in the country, provided that the residency is valid for more than one year.
