FC Barcelona has won three league games in a row for the first time this season.

Ronald Koeman's team was too strong for Granada on Saturday, partly due to two goals from Lionel Messi, 0-4.

Sevilla beat Real Sociedad through a hat-trick from the competitor of Luuk de Jong.

Barcelona also won the away games against SD Huesca (0-1) and Athletic Club (2-3) this calendar year and is now the number three in La Liga.

Messi is after three matches in 2021 on four goals and an assist.

With eleven goals this season, he is 'just' again the top scorer in Spain.

Barcelona already decided the game in Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in the first half.

Antoine Griezmann opened the score in the twelfth minute with some fortune.

Granada hoped for offside, but the ball reached the Frenchman through the leg of a player from the home team.

Twenty minutes later it was 0-2 via Messi.

The Barça captain was given too much space on the edge of the penalty area and curled the ball nicely into the intersection with the left.

Just before half time, Messi also signed for the 0-3 with a low free kick.

It was the 37th time that the Argentinian scored in La Liga from a direct free kick.

In the 63rd minute Griezmann also scored for the second time.

The attacker took the ball with the left after a nice pass from fellow countryman Ousmane Dembélé and hit with the right from a difficult angle.

Koeman was then able to give Messi and Frenkie de Jong 25 minutes rest and at Granada Jesús Vallejo got red.

Sergio Busquets played his 600th official match for FC Barcelona.

He is the fourth player to reach this milestone after Xavi (767), Messi (752) and Andrés Iniesta (674).

Sergiño Dest participated ninety minutes in Granada.

Supporting role for Luuk de Jong

At Sevilla-Real Sociedad, four goals were scored within fifteen minutes.

Sevilla attacker Youssef En Nesyri signed for the 1-0 and the 2-1 and former Willem II striker Alexander Isak and Sevilla defender Diego Carlos (own goal) equalized for Sociedad.

En Nesyri's 3-2 in the 46th minute was the winning goal.

Luuk de Jong was only allowed to come in for En Nesyri in the 89th minute.

The Orange-international scored only twice this season in sixteen league appearances.

Sevilla is already eight duels in a row without a defeat and thanks to the victory, just like Sociedad, it is on thirty points in La Liga.

The Basques have played three more matches.
