This is confirmed by the chairman of the International Handball Federation (IHF), Hassan Moustafa, according to Danish TV2.

Earlier this week, the European players' union wrote a letter to Moustafa protesting that up to 4,000 spectators should be allowed at the World Cup matches, a letter that, among others, the Swedish goalkeeper and captain Andreas Palicka are behind.

In a statement taken by TV2, Hassan Moustafa writes that he and the IHF have noted the objections and that they respect the concerns.

"We assure you that the players' wishes, as described in the letter, will be taken into account when we make a decision," Moustafa writes, promising to make a final statement on Monday.

The World Handball Championship starts on Wednesday.
