The Japan Sumo Association has decided to carry out a PCR test for the new coronavirus for all members of the association, including wrestlers, in preparation for the first venue to be held from the 10th of this month.

In the sumo tournament, the infection of Yokozuna Hakuho's new coronavirus was revealed on the 5th, and outbreaks occurred in multiple rooms from last month to this month.

Under these circumstances, the Japan Sumo Association's public relations manager, Shibatayama, has announced that he will conduct a PCR test on all members of the association, including wrestlers and masters, in preparation for the first venue, which will be held on the 10th of this month.

The test will be conducted from the 7th by distributing the test kit to each room, and it will take a whole day up to the 8th until the test results of all the members are known.

For this reason, according to the Sumo Association, the "Efforts Organization Meeting" on the 8th may be delayed to the 9th, which is the day before the first day of the first place.

Effort organization meetings are usually held in the morning, two days before the first day of the venue, to decide on the efforts for the first and second days.

Regarding this response, Mr. Shibatayama, the director of public relations, said, "If the test yields unfavorable results, we will look at the situation and symptoms and discuss with an infectious disease expert to decide what to do. Instead, we decided on the inspection with the safety and security of our customers in mind, "he said, and continued to show the policy of aiming to hold the first place with the audience.
