Sweden apologized for the player's actions immediately after the match and it was accepted by the Finnish camp.

- The Swedish team management has personally apologized to me, and I accepted the apology.

That is the most important thing, and for us it is now out of the question, said general manager Kimmo Oikarinen to Iltalehti.

The Swedish management has also talked to the player himself to sort out the background to why he did not take off his helmet.

- According to the player, there was no active choice, no protest or anything like that.

It was just a young player who stood in his own disappointment and did not understand that he should take the help away, says Johan Stark and continues:

- But we have still apologized because it is still not okay.

But it does not feel like it was anything worse than that.

Once the feedback from the IIHF comes, we will of course respect it, whatever it is.

Personally, Stark does not see the incident as particularly serious.

- I do not think it is so dramatic in that it was not an active choice and not aimed at any opponent.

Possible consequences for the Swedish union are likely to be a warning or possibly a fine.
