Kamil Stoch once again proved his class and gave the Poles a festive day.

The 33-year-old from the ski jumping-crazy country won the prestigious Four Hills Tournament for the third time in his career.

Karl Geiger from Oberstdorf, who had gambled away his chances of overall victory in Innsbruck and dropped to fourth, worked his way up to second.

Third place went to the Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud.

Stoch won the day ahead of Marius Lindvik (Norway).

Geiger came in third.

Stoch cemented his status as one of the greatest ski jumpers of all time and ensured the fourth Polish tour victory in the past five years.

Stoch's impressive track record is now: three tour triumphs, including one as a Grand Slam, three Olympic victories, two World Cup titles, two successes in the overall World Cup and 27 individual victories in the World Cup.

In Poland he has long been a national hero.

His successes give Stoch peace of mind on the hill and self-confidence in crucial situations.

Even before the last competition in Bischofshofen, it was clear: A lot had to happen for the veteran to give up the triumph.

More soon.
