The organizer has already finished with a new hotel.

"Several hotels in Melbourne have been secured, including a replacement for the Westin, to safely house the group with international players," the tennis organizer wrote in a press release.

All incoming players must be quarantined for 14 days before the Australian Open which starts on 8 February.

Several of those who own apartments in the Westin Hotel in Melbourne were furious that tennis players would live in the same building, for fear of corona infection.

This despite the fact that the hotel management assured that the tennis players would have their own entrance and their own lifts and that the ventilation was separated.
