After 54 straight wins in the junior WC group games, Sweden now has two straight losses.

With the Swedish loss, Sweden finished "only" third in the group, and thus has to face Finland in the quarterfinals.
Sweden was never close to threatening the United States.
The Americans came out with enormous speed and aggressiveness, and made it 1-0 already after 1.09, when Drew Helleson pulled away a return from the corner and shot the goal via Hugo Alnefelt and into goal.
