The club issued an announcement that night that the team will be renamed "Luoyang Longmen Football Club."

Henan Jianye wrote in the announcement: "According to the relevant regulations and requirements of the Chinese Football Association, after careful research and decision,'Henan Jianye Football Club Co., Ltd.' intends to change its name to'Luoyang Longmen Football Club Co., Ltd.' This announcement is hereby announced."
On the 14th of last month, the Chinese Football Association officially announced the new policy of neutralizing the club name.
According to the policy, the neutral club name must not contain the name, trade name or brand name of the club shareholder, shareholder-related party or actual controller. The new club name should be healthy and civilized, reflecting the traditional culture of the region, humanistic spirit, and club philosophy .
Under the influence of the New Deal, the names of the teams including Beijing Guoan, Shandong Luneng, Tianjin Teda and Zhejiang Greentown are likely to disappear in the new season.
Of course, there is also Henan Jianye.
Before the Football Association officially asked the club to change its neutral name, Jianye had solicited names from fans. The candidates included: Henan Xinzhongyuan, Henan Navigation, Henan Hometown, Zhengzhou Airport, Zhengzhou Tiandizhong, Zhengzhou Zhongyue Songshan, Henan only Henan and Henan Ten names including Zhongyuan Sports, Henan Dazhongyuan, Henan Xuanyuan, etc., but "Luoyang Dragon Gate" is not on the candidate list.
Henan changed to Luoyang, Jianye changed to Longmen, and all elements of the team's team name changed. I believe that many old Jianye fans have difficulty adapting for a while.
However, in order to match the requirements of the New Deal, this is also a change that many teams have to make.
