Time is short for a new Gothenburg team in the damallsvenskan.

The deadline for taking over the champion team Göteborg FC's place is according to the Swedish Football Association's regulations on New Year's Eve, tomorrow 31 December.

SvFF has themselves sought Gothenburg in the case to find out how they want to do.

Normally, it is the club in question that usually contacts the association.

- Our competition department has contacted Gothenburg due to the information that has come out in the media, but at present they have formally seen a place in damallsvenskan, says Christine Stridsberg, federal lawyer at SvFF.

When must the union last have a message?

- What complicates the matter in this case is that it is about damallsvenskan, so in addition to the general competition rules that apply to all our series, we also have requirements for an elite license.

That is the border on 31 December.

Markus Johannesson: "All of a sudden everything is snatched away for the players"

"Will not hang in the air for long"

Can Gothenburg be granted an exemption to solve this in January?

- I will not marry that we would not allow an exception in this case, if it is the case that in the near future they submit a petition with strong reasons.

December 31st is a date to relate to, but now we also need to talk to the club and hear what scenarios they see in front of them.

But I guess you can not wait for Gothenburg for another month?

- We can not just sit on our hands for a month and wait, but of course want to find a solution in the near future out of respect for the possible associations that in that case will be asked to take over their place.

It's hard to talk about exact dates, but I do not think this will hang in the air for too long.

Sef: "Sitting quietly in the boat"

So a solution that comes a couple of weeks into January is not a problem in relation to the deadline of December 31?

- The deadline for the elite license is 31 December, but whether we grant an exemption or not depends on which alternative Gothenburg intends.

There are many ways to reorganize a business and the only thing we can do is take a stand on their proposal, says Christine Stridsberg.

Tomas Hoszek, general secretary of the interest organization Elite Football Women, says to SVT Sport:

- We sit quietly in the boat.

We do not start acting until they resign.

But I do not think that an association that has worked for 20 years to develop women's football will let it go up in smoke just like that.
