Barcelona confirms Coutinho's need for knee surgery

Spanish football club Barcelona announced today, Wednesday, that its player Felipe Coutinho will need knee surgery due to an injury he suffered.

The club said: "The tests that were conducted showed that the Brazilian player suffers from an injury to the outer meniscus of the left knee."

He added, "Treating the injury requires keyhole surgery (laparoscopic surgery), which will take place over the next few days."

Coutinho suffered a knee injury during Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Eibar on Tuesday in the sixteenth stage of the Spanish League.

This comes at a time when Barcelona misses the efforts of Gerard Pique, Sergio Roberto and Anso Fati for a long time due to injuries.
