Frappart has refereed in Ligue 1 since 2019 and in August she refereed the European Super Cup final, the meeting between the winners of the men's Champions League and Europa League.

At the beginning of December, she wrote the next chapter when she, as the first female referee, started a men's match in the Champions League when Juventus hosted Dynamo Kiev.

"I know I'm a role model," Frappart told the BBC.

- Young women watch TV, so I know that if I am on the field, they can see that it is possible.

This is the first step that can help some young girls start judging.

Despite the fact that she is an inspiration to many and that her name has flourished extensively in media all over the world, Frappart claims to live in a bubble.

- I have no social media.

I never read about myself in newspapers.

I have my bubble, she says and continues:

- I know that in football everyone talks about referees and performance, but I still ignore everything.

I prefer it like this.
